VOLUNTEERING

Dolphin Swimming Club survives on the generosity of its volunteers and we encourage the parents of all children to get involved. Without volunteers the club won't be able to continue providing the level of excellence that our members have become accustomed to. Our philosophy at Dolphin is to make the experience for the volunteers as fun as it is for the swimmers. Fun, learning and being better than you were yesterday is for everyone.

At a minimum, we expect at least ONE PARENT of each swimmer to make themselves available to volunteer.

Volunteering requirements
In order to get involved it is necessary for all volunteering adults to:
1. Ensure that you and your swimmers have signed and handed in the Code of Conduct for Parents & Swimmers. Completed code of conduct forms should be handed to one of the committee members or sent to secretary@dolphinsc.ie

2. Complete the Garda vetting process; E-Vet form. This is required for anyone 16+. It is an easy process, but takes a few weeks for the appropriate authorities to complete. Please complete the form and bring to the Dolphin Club Chair or Secretary for signature. Please contact secretary@dolphinsc.ie if you need further information.
For volunteers under the age of 18 you will need to get a parent to complete the consent. Further info here.

3. For anyone supporting in a coaching role or an official gala role you will need to complete a Safeguarding - Level 1 classroom course (3 hrs). Anyone interested should email  secretary@dolphinsc.ie

Courses for Volunteers and Coaches

Dolphin Swimming Club are committed to improving the sport of swimming and we work with our governing body Swim Ireland in a bid to educate and up skill our volunteers and coaches.

As part of our membership we require that one family member would intake and participate in the one of the many Officials and Team Mangers courses which are being run through Swim Ireland. The courses are typically on line and completion of these and participation of parents helps ensure we remain compliant and safe as a club when bringing our swimmers to galas. All the swimmers appreciate your participation!!
